Welcome to the website of the 'Ice Cream Simulation' Business Studies study aid, made by us the students for you, to help you get to grips with Business Studies in a more enjoyable and interactive way.
Have a look around the site and download a demo of version 2 if you would like to see what the software is like. Version 3 will soon be released, available to all schools and colleges. It is currently being trialed at selected schools, and so far we have had very positive feedback.

About The Game:
THE ICE CREAM GAME sees the player taking on the role of an ice cream vender for one week in a local park. The legality of this is questionable, as no license is applied for, but a percentage of the profits taken at the end of the game.
In order to cover costs you take out a loan [from your parents] that you pay back throughout the week in order to buy a stall, and the nessecery ice cream and cones.
When you first play, it may seem that there is a lot going on, but really all you have to do is:
-Select quality of ice cream
-Choose selling price per ice cream
-Buy cones
-Put money into advertising your stall
-Pay attention to the weather (this influences sales)
And that's the game. A full version will be available soon, and a demo is freeware and available on this site, located on the Have a Go! Page.
History:
"This started out as an idea to sell ice cream at a local park to raise money for worthy causes. Because we do business studies for GCSE, we thought it appropriate to build a mock up of sales and profit from that.
Cue Snowball:
What started as an informal rough representation turned out to be a 22-sheet monster that was bug tested in 2 hours and final ammendments made on the fly. What we were left with was a workable game simulation, but with a few bugs, and a huge glitch. The game was played through by our business class, and enjoyed.
This school year (2001/2002), we decided to remake it, but bigger and better. At first it was just a de-glitching with a few refinements, but now things are getting out of hand. This game could easily be twice the size of its predecessor, but hugely improved.
Ladies and gentlemen, this is the power of progress.
Now, as we enter 2004 version 3 is nearing completion for comercial release. this version is even bigger and better than the second."
